Tom Hoppe  

Thomas Hoppe, Chair of Trustees

Tom was the COO/CFO for Coalition, a leading business intelligence provider to Investment Banks. Having graduated in Economics and Politics from the University of Warwick, Tom spent 25 years at JP Morgan and predecessor banks holding global leadership roles in Fixed Income Businesses. Tom joined Scotts in 2007. Prior to becoming Chairman, Tom led the successful planning and development of the extension for St Peters Row.

Jill Scott  

Jill Scott, MBE, President for Life and Founder of Scotts Project Trust

Jill, together with her late husband Denis, founded Scotts Project Trust to provide what Jill calls 'a homely home' where people with a learning disability could thrive and be happy. Jill was inspired by her daughter, Henny, who had a learning disability, and fundraised tirelessly to build St Peter's Row. Thanks to Jill's vision, and commitment to the value of performing and visual arts, we also have our Development Centre.


Caroline Becher - Chair of Care and Safeguarding Committee

Caroline (RGN, BSc Hons) trained at Guys Hospital, London. She has held many senior posts in the NHS including Director of Nursing at Queen Victoria Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, East Grinstead & Ashford & St Peters Hospitals NHS Trust Chertsey, Surrey. Caroline has been invited to give presentations at National Conferences and has a particular interest in Privacy & Dignity for patients. Caroline has held posts as a Non-Executive Director in both secondary and community services, she is also a Free Lance Management & Nursing Consultant and Interim Independent Nurse on the Board of Governors for West Kent Clinical Commissioning.

Raj Bhamber - Care and Safeguarding Committee

Raj is a former PwC Director with extensive experience in the fields of people, organisational development and communications. She is a fellow of the CIPD and has enjoyed working in both the public and private sectors in Canada and the UK.

Andrew Blevins  

Andrew Blevins, Health and Safety Committee

Andrew is UK Managing Director of Liberty Property Trust and has been active in the property industry for 30 yearsPrior to joining Liberty, Andrew served as European Director of Jones Lang LaSalle’s international property consultancy and is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.  Andrew is also a director of Kent’s inward investment agency, Locate in Kent.

Sue Bourne  

Sue Bourne - Finance and General Purposes Committee

Sue is a non-executive partner with Frog Capital, a private equity fund specialising in fast-growing European businesses. She graduated from St Andrews University and then qualified as a Chartered Accountant with KPMG. Sue worked for 3i for 15 years where she was a UK Director. She has experience of 2 other private equity funds and in 2013 she was involved for 12 months as a business volunteer for the charity Pilotlight. Sue joined as a Trustee in August 2014.

Derek McManamin  

Derek McMenamin - Legal

Derek spent 30 years at Linklaters, the global business law firm, including 21 years as a partner in its Corporate Department. From 2011 until 2014 he was a non-executive director of Crown Agents, which operates in the international aid and development sector and he remains a non-executive director of its subsidiary, Crown Agents Bank. He is a graduate of Cambridge University and joined Scotts in January 2015.


Martin Miles - Finance and General Purposes Committee

Martin is a retired actuary and a former Partner of PWC.  He chairs the Education Committee of the Actuaries Livery Company and is on the Board of Citizens Advice North & West Kent.

 Linda Charlton  

Linda Robinson - Community Relations

Educated at Tonbridge Grammar School for Girls, Linda then gained a Law Degree from De Montfort University after which she joined Fidelity International, a privately-owned investment company.  She covered a number of senior roles during her 30 year career at Fidelity, she was also the Chair of the Corporate Fund Raising Committee for the Kent site (which had a long relationship with the Scotts Project) and a sponsor for the Diversity and Inclusion Committee including being the Champion for Mental Health.  Linda participates in a number of voluntary activities, she is a Trustee Govenor for Lingfield College, an instructor for a local branch of the Riding for the Disabled Association and a cross country judge/ dressage and show jumping steward for British Eventing.  She is married with three grown up children. 


Sara Tozzi - Care and Safeguarding Committee

Sara is a qualified Solicitor (although no longer practising) and sits as a Magistrate in the Adult Criminal Court and on the Family Panel in Central Kent. Sara has recently retired from her post as Chair of Tonbridge and Malling Citizen's Advice Bureau and has been a governor of 2 local Schools in the recent past. Sara has been involved in local fundraising for Scotts for over 10 years.

 Richard Tapsfield  


Richard Tapsfield - Chair of Policy Committee

Richard is a graduate of Cambridge University and joined Scotts in January 2019.  He was with Linklaters, the international law firm, for 40 years as trainee, associate and then partner, advising on commercial litigation and leading their professional indemnity insurance programme.

Nick Ward  

Nick Ward - Chair of Finance and General Purposes Committee

Nick is a retired chartered accountant. He worked for many years in the City of London for a leading professional services firm.






Mrs Caroline Phippen is not a Trustee but acts as Chair of Service Management Committee
